We often make the mistake of making our marketing about ourselves — what we're doing, and what we need, rather than the value we're creating for our audience. People who write code love what they do, but their customers don't. They just want an app that works. You love photography but your clients love the memories you make for them. Memories or a picture for the wall. When you're thinking about business or marketing campaigns, focus on your customers. What's in it for them? To View More >>

There are two types of photographers — those who love the sales process, and the rest of us! Yes, most of us really are shy about sales. We don't want to come across like car salesmen or slick real estate people. But we run businesses, and it's sales that make the business world go round. So here are some ideas to boost your album sales without being pushy or sales-y. To sell but stay true to yourself. To leave your clients feeling they've been listened to while consistently delivering beautiful wedding albums to them.  By the way, these ideas will work with all product sales — To View More >>

At Izo Photography, outsourcing frees up time to do the things they love. Photography is a form of self expression, and that's why Jimmy from Izo Photography fell in love with it. After picking up his partner Shona's old DSLR camera, and discovering it was for him, he began to pursue a career in professional photography, which he absolutely loves.   After "practice, practice and more practice", Jimmy's advice to photographers is to outsource work from as early on as possible. When Izo first started out they did everything themselves, but they soon To View More >>

A few clients have told us that they prefer to export their own printing files (page layouts) in Photojunction, but the "Export" button seems to have disappeared. So what have we done with it? Whether the Export button appears or not is dependent on whether you or we (Queensberry) are to do the exporting, and that depends on the option you choose in the Service dropdown menu during album set up. Looking at the screenshot, if you choose Print and Assemble you'll need to do the export - ie create the PSD layouts and, if need be, edit the files before you upload them to us. If you chose Export, Print To View More >>

If you follow our main Queensberry blog, you might have seen that I recently designed and ordered my own Queensberry album. (View the blog post here). Well, Stephen wandered in a while ago and saw me looking at what he assumed was my album, and asked how I liked it. "It's crap," I said. "I don't even like looking at it." He went really pale! What he didn't know is that Heather had suggested I use the exact same image files to create an album with another well known supplier. I'm not naming names, but wow - the differences are astounding. I understand that you get what you pay for, and that our To View More >>

New Zealand photographer Bianca Duimel set up this sample portrait album to feature some of her best work... She took these photos of expecting parents Tony and Sharon just one week before their little baby boy was born. Bianca say this golden haired angel took her breath away. Three-year-old Holly obviously isn't scared of bees! And Pippa was let loose to run around outside in the sun while Bianca got these shots. Thanks for sharing, Bianca :) To view a slideshow of Bianca's sample album click here. Cheers, Nigel To View More >>

If you reopen an album in Photojunction after sending to Queensberry, you'll notice it's "locked" and cannot be modified. Why? Because if you were to make changes to the album after we've received the order, we'd be making something different, which would certainly cause us confusion – you, us, or all of us – as you can imagine. So if you need to make changes to the album, eg upload new files, or order an extra copy, you'll need to duplicate the album first. Cheers, Angelique To View More >>
